Susan Orlean, author of Adaptation and The Orchid Thief, wrote a great essay in the New Yorker about the "semiology and phenomenology of hashtaggery" as it relates to Twitter.
If you are a user of Twitter, you'll find this to be an excellent, funny and very well written piece. (I also like that she uses Sarah Palin as her example of choice.)

Creeposity by David Bickle is a book that highlights things in our society that are "unintentionally creepy."
Nerve.com featured a slideshow of creepy images based on this book -- which cracked me up, because a lot of them are true. Including the above image of Blowy Guy you see in front of car dealerships.
I'm intrigued to see what else Bickle came up with -- I might have to pick up a copy of Creeposity.
